The coupling relationship between the orogens and the sedimentary basins——An example from Qinghai-Tibet plateau and its surrounding basins

  • Based on the former's resea rchers,this paper presents the coupling relation ship between orogenic belts and their margin sedimentary basins by the means of analyzing the tectonic framework,lithosphere texture evolution and so on.This article puts forward a coupling model as the following: Basin extends and expands while mountain contracts and lifts; Basin subducts while mountain over pushes; Basin depresses with loading while mountain uplifts with unloading; Basin is curved by pressure then slides away down the laminar while mounta in extands sideway then thrusts and nappes up.The couplingaction causes mountains thickskinned structure of thick crust and thin mantle,at the same time causes basin's thinskinned structure of thin crust and thick mantle.
