Establishment of spatial database based on Arc/Info for estimating area stability in Hubei province

GIS is the database management system, which captures, stores, analyzes, processes and displays spatial data. It is a verv powerful tool to study spatial objects. The paper presents the establishment of spatial database system for estimating area stability in Hubei province, based on namable GIS software Arc/info by using previous geo-data and remote sensing data, which is an important source to capture and update data in the spatial database system. And it elaborates the content, function, applications and sense of establishing the spatial database system.
