Analysis of pollution actuality and trend of superficial ground water in Xi’an

Because of the short distance of its location to the surface, the influence of many kinds of natural factors and human activities, ground water in Xi'an city has been greatly polluted. The overall solid, rigidity, nitrate,fluoride and chloride and so on, have exceeded the national table-water standard. In this paper, through over 10 years' systemic gathering and analizing the data of the quality of ground water in Xi'an, we draw the conclusion that the geological environment has correspondingly improved with people's deeper realizaion of the importance of the protection of our living environment. The main pollution components have been decreased and the area polluted has shrinked more or less and the quality of ground water has been improved.
