Copper ore deposit types and prospecting direction in Shaanxi province

  • From researches on the copper ore deposit production of Shaanxi province and the new found copper ore deposits in territorial resources survey, 8 genetic types of copper ore deposits were classified, of which the important types are volcano thermal fluid of marine facies type, contact metasomatism type, and metamorphosed type; and 9 metallogenic series related to the copper ore were classified, of which the metallogenic series mainly related to copper ore deposits (spots) are iron-copper deposit series related to proterowic acid-neutral rock, iron-copper-aurum-wolfram-fluorite deposit series related to Caledonian-Indosinian neutral-acid granite rocks, copper-zinc deposit series related to marine neutral-acid volcanic rock, copper-zinc-chalcopyrite deposit series related to Precambrian metamorphosed volcanic rock, and marine jet flow sedinent-theimal fluid reformed lead-zinc-copper deposit series; and 5 Ⅲ-level and 9 IV-level deposit zones related to copper deposits and 14 main copper prospecting zones (equivalent to V-level) were classified, of which the copper basilica prospecting zones are iron-copper deposit zone in Qiligou of Mianxian-Gongjiahe of Ningqiang, copper-zinc deposit zone in Tongyu-iluo yu,Yanshanian iron-copper-molybdenum-wolfram-lead-zinc-fluorite deposit zone in Mangling-Muhuguan, and iron-copper-gold deposit zone in Xiaohekou-Yuanzijie.
