Geological Characteristics and Vanadium Enrichment of the Zhongcun Vanadium Deposit, Shanyang County,Shaanxi Province

The Zhongcun vanadium mineralization zone located in Shanyang county, Shaanxi province, stretches from the Shicaogou valley in Zoulinguan town of the Danfeng county in the east to the Suyugou valley in Luoyu town, Shangyang county in the west in about 30 km long and 50～100 m wide. The total resource reserve of predicted V₂O₅ is about 2.97 million tons. The Zhongcun vanadium depoist in the middle-western portion of the zone is a typical sedimentary ore deposit. The orebodies occurred in the Cambrian Shuigoukou formation.The orebodies are characterized with agreat thickness and long extension and even distribution.There is a rather importan trelation ship between the enrichment processes and the genesis of the deposit.The occurrence of Velement is in isomorphous substitution in clay minerals.
