  • According to the soil type, land using type and parent materials,Organic carbon density and storage of surface soil were calculated based on organic carbon data of surface soil from Huangshui River Basin in multi-purpose regional geochemical survey of Qinghai Province. The distribution of organic carbon density and storage were discussed. From the soil type, the organic carbon density of alpine meadow soil is the highest and the organic carbon density of irrigation silting soils is the lowest. From the Land use type, the organic carbon density of soil in Artificial Grassland is the highest, and the organic carbon density of soil in grassland is the lowest. From the parent materials, the organic carbon density of soil in residual deposits is the highest, and the organic carbon density of soil in alluvial and loess is basically the same. This research results, have important directive to carbon fixation.
