  • The geological structures are complicated in Qinling Orogenic Belt with the abundance of many metallic mineral resources. The west Qinling region of Gansu Province is the most important gold prospecting and mining areas, meanwhile it is a famous gold metallogenic zone in China. Recently, there are some breakthrough of gold exploration, among which some super-large and large gold deposits,such as Dashui, Zaozigou, Daqiao, Liba, Laerma, Yangshan, Zaishang, Zhuyuanbei, Jiagantan etc. in this region are discovered and evaluated. By studying geology, geological structure and gold metallogenesis of west Qinling. The paper summarizes features of metallogenic zones and sub-zones, discusses geochemical characteristics of gold deposits, and provides the scheme of prediction for gold prospecting targets. This paper has reference value for investigation work deployment in the study area.
