  • Total cited frequency of a periodical is very important in statistics and analysis. To continuously improve the academic level of Northwestern Geology, a statistical analysis is conducted on the total cited frequency and other factors of Northwestern Geology from 2001 to 2012 according to CJCR and WD, two famous statistical agencies of China. The results indicated that total cited frequency of Northwestern Geology had increased 416 from 2001 to 2012 in CJCR, while increased 782 from 2003 to 2012 in WD, and percentage of total cited frequency of Northwestern Geology increased 660.32% from 2001 to 2012 in CJCR, while increased 1133.33% from 2003 to 2012 in WD. The fact indicated that the total cited frequency of Northwestern Geology has been increasing swiftly over the past years. Based on the statistics and analysis, the influence factors of total cited frequency were analyzed, and reasonable suggestions were given by the author to increase the total cited frequency of Northwestern Geology.
