Abstract
The Tekes paired metamorphic belt is an important part of the paired metamorphic belt in West Tianshan. Detailed observations and discussions on the characteristics of Tekes paired metamorphic belt are contribute to in-depth studying the paired metamorphic belt in entire western Tianshan. The metamorphic rocks with low-pressure facies series are respected by the rock groups of cordierite schist, but the ones with high-pressure facies series are delegated by the rock groups of glaucophane schist. Under the subsequent compression system, the stratified metamorphic rocks with different competent had been superimposed together by continent-continent collision. After experiencing strong displacement of longitudinal structures, the rock groups of glaucophane schist (including marble) with strong competent had been changed as lenticular, layered rock, which had been embedded in the rock groups of cordierite schist (with weak competent and large quantity), constituting the mélange of paired metamorphic belt. The time of metamorphism is about the end of Late Silurian Epoch. The rock groups of cordierite schist were formed by island arc type metamorphism with amphibolite facies in low-pressure facies series, but the ones of glaucophane schist were developed by subduction zone type metamorphism with low greenschist facies in high-pressure facies series.
