  • The Beisanduan Ag-Pb polymetallic deposit is an epithermal deposit, which is silver-basedand associated with comprehensive utilization Pb, Zn. Based on the geological background of mining area, geological characteristics of mineral deposit, orebody and ore characteristics, the regional geological characteristics and metallogenic epoch have been analyzed, the source of ore-forming materials has been discussed by applying Pb isotopes, and then the metallogenic model for this deposit has been proposed.According to metallogenic model, the predictability of metallogenic potential in this deposit and its surrounding has been discussed, which provide foundation and suggestion for the further ore-prospecting. Then five ore-prospecting criteria have been put forward. The NW-trending faults, theintersections between NW-and NE-trending faults or the ones between EW-and SN-trending faults, the lamprophyre and diabase dykes related Late Jurassic magmatic activity and adjacent area, the region between Beisanduan and Dajingdeposits, as well as the depth of Beisanduan deposit serve as the favorable positions for ore prospecting.
