Preliminarily Study on the Origin of Spodumene-bearing Pegmatite Sediments in Jiajika Orefield and Some Enlightenment

    • The Jiajika orefield is located in the western part of Sichuan province, which has abundant rare metal resources. The most of the Jiajika orefield is covered by Quaternary stratum and has terrible natural geographical environment, while the polished surface and glacial striation were found on the surface of some conglomerate, which caused the spodumene-bearing pegmatite sediments had been classified as the glacial till of Quaternary when the predecessors carried out geological field work there. However, after carrying out the geological field work carefully, it's believed that these spodumene-bearing pegmatite sediments are not the glacial till of Quaternary and they belong to native pegmatite sediments by combining morphology of spodumene-bearing pegmatite sediments, landform characteristics and prospecting exploration results. This cognition transition not only promotes great breakthrough for years' geological prospecting work in the Jiajika orefield, but also provides new idea, new direction for future geological prospecting work in the western part of Sichuan province, which is worth to be further summarized and discussed.
