  • The regional susceptibility evaluation of geological hazards has a profound meaning for the local government effectively conduct the mass monitoring and preventing work of geological hazards.The article discusses the principle of GIS-based information method, and the application to geohazards risk assessment in Minhe County.The GIS-based information method brings the spatial analysis ability of GIS technology and the quantitative analysis of information method, the calculation of information value and the completion of the regional risk assessment are based on the statistical evaluation factors of geological hazards within the distribution layer.Through analyzing the susceptibility evaluation of geological hazards by employing GIS information, the high susceptibility zones, middle susceptibility zones and low susceptibility zones account 34.0%, 53.3%, and 12.7% of the total area of Minhe County, respectively.The evaluation results are reliable and basically, which is consistent with the actual situation.
