Abstract
Exploration engineering spacing is the actual distance among the most adjacent exploration engineering controlling ore bodies, which has been determined by the exploration type depending on the complexity of the geological conditions of the mineral deposits.In current exploration standard of iron, manganese and chromium deposits, there is no clear quantitative method to determine the engineering spacing, and the recommended engineering spacing along-strike at general exploration stage is unreasonable.These factors influence the reliability of engineering spacing determination and the delineation of ore-body, as well as the accuracy of resource/reserves, which cause the hidden riskin mineral exploration. In this paper, based on the comparative study of exploration type and the actual exploration engineering spacing on the typical iron, manganese and chromium deposits,the three methods (such as dynamic fractal geometry method (SD method), the comparative analysis between geological exploration and production exploration)are adopt to analyze the rationality of exploration type and the exploration engineering spacing for these deposits, and the recommended exploration engineering spacing for these deposits has been further put forward from the economic and reasonable perspective,and these methods have been recommended to the use of future exploration practice.
