Neotectonic movement and mineralization of the North Qilian area

The North Qilian area is one of the most important tectono-mineralized belts in which there are rich mineral resources in China. Based on studying the characteristics of neotectonic movements of the North Qilian area, the authors believe that the neotectonic movements since Himalaya movements not only made the North Qilian area intensive uplifting, and the recurrence and generation of faults and folds, but also brought about the formation and evolution of the surface feature and climate. Therefore, the neotectonic movements is an important controled factor on the mineralization and distribution of metallic ore deposit of the alluvial gold-platinum placer,oil and gas fields and nonmetallic.
