Geological Features and Ore Prospecting Potential of the Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide Lead-Zinc Deposits in Kaladaban Area, Altun

    • The Kaladaban area, in which intermediate-acidic volcanic rocks and nearly EW-trending faults are well developed, locates in the Hongliugou-Lapeiquan arc basins(rift). Along the limonitization and jarosite alteration zone of the Kaladaban fault, a few lead-zinc deposits with similar geological features have been found. The geological characteristics of these lead-zinc deposits imply that they belong to volcanic massive sulfide(VMS) type deposit. Based on ore-controlling factors analysis and ore prospecting criteria summary, we believe that this area has superior metallogenic conditions and huge ore prospecting potential.
