Abstract:
The Shuanglong iron deposit is located in the Kawa iron ore-concentrated area in the western section of North Qilian Mountains, which is the other important sedimentary-metamorphic iron deposit after the Jingtieshan iron deposit found within the polymetallicmetallogenic belt in the western section of North Qilian Mountains. The Shuanglong iron deposit was occurred in shallow sedimentary clastic sedimentary rocks of Changchengian Huashugou Formation. The orebodies are mostly developed as the stratiform shapes, while their distribution and occurrence were controlled by the ore-bearing strata, and their thickness vary with the ones of wall rocks. The iron ores have fine-grained structure, banded structure, low grade with great range, showing the characteristics of sedimentary-metamorphic iron ore. After discussing the genesis of this deposit, the Shuanglong iron deposit has been classified as the sedimentary-metamorphic iron deposit that related with submarine exhalative process, and the metallogenic model of this deposit has been established.
