Abstract:
In order to effectively guide the 1:50000 geological mapping of coastal zone, the structure characteristics of Taishan coast in Guangdong have been studied. Based on the field investigation, the sedimentary formation, metamorphism, deformation and deep tectonic characteristics of this area have been studied. It is preliminarily concluded that the early Paleozoic tectonic setting is more inclined to the rift trough than the so-called massif. According to the rock construction and transformation, metamorphic deformation characteristics, structural magmatic development characteristics and angle unconformity contact relationship, the tectonic layers of the survey area have been classified into three layers from bottom to top and from old to young, that is, Caledonian tectonic layer, Hercynian-Indosinian tectonic layer, and Yanshan-Himalayan tectonic layer. And then, the responses of sedimentation, magmatism and metamorphism to tectonic movement have been preliminarily analyzed. The result of the investigations and study plays a positive role in guiding the further work of geological mapping.
